Since moving to Sacramento four years ago, Kyle and Morgan have become involved in urban agriculture, opening a farm stand of their own, composting, and raising chickens in the city. They designed, built, and planted a water-conscious and mostly edible organic garden on a 6,000 square ft. lot: 900 square ft. of “river-friendly” and edible landscaping in the front, 2,000 square ft. of water-permeable patio and edible and drought-tolerant landscaping, and a 500 square ft. vegetable garden.

Their urban farm demonstrates that it is possible to grow food as well as have entertaining space on a city lot. With their urban farm they hope to inspire and educate others as well as contribute to they strong sense of community that already exists in Sacramento.
